Timber Framing Essentials

April 30-May 3, 2020

Cost: $600

Includes-Lunch, Morning/Afternoon Refreshments. Copy of Consturction plans

This is a workshop that anyone who is involved in carpentry, woodworking and general construction could benefit from.

Timber Framing is the craft of fabricating wood joints out of square or round timbers. These joints work in place of metal fasteners and were traditionally used in order to put buildings together that last. The level of craftsmanship and intention that is required, imbues the timbered building with the capability to last for generations.

During this 4- day workshop, participants will help in the fabrication and raising of a 16x20 artist shed in rural Brandywine, MD. Participants will be shown the traditional hand tool and production (power tool) timber framing techniques. The frame will be cut out of white oak and southern pine using square rule methods. Upon registration and down payment, you will receive a welcome packing listing all relevant information and materials needed for the workshop.
